Allowed with court's permission. Required for corporations.

If defendant's counterclaim exceeds $7,500 the case will proceed under rules of civil procedure and evidence in County Court.

Either party may file an appeal for a new trial in the regular division of County Court within 20 days of judgment. Jury trial allowed on appeal.

No jury trial. No pre-trial attachments or garnishments. Defendant must file counterclaim within 5 days of the trial date. If counterclaim exceeds jurisdictional limit and defendant files in another court, the clerk will strike the Small Claims case from the calendar.
